The fourth National Art&Design Saturday Club Summer Show launched on Thursday 23 May. This unique exhibition showcases the work of over 700 young people aged 14-16 who have been to Saturday Clubs in universities, colleges and museums across the UK.
Over 200 guests came to the Private View, which was opened by Ed Vaizey, MP, Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries.
Speaking at the opening, Frances Sorrell announced the Sorrell Foundation's new initiative, Creative Career Visits for 14-16 year olds. The pilot will provide focussed visits to creative companies to help young people make informed choices about education and training.
The Summer Show is open from 24 May to 5 June* at the Embankment Galleries, Somerset House, Strand, London WC2R 1LA. Between 28 May and 5 June, young artists and designers in residence are running drop in activities in the gallery. (*closed 25 June for Club Members' family day)
